DIVISION FOUR LEAGUE CUP FINAL PREVIEW
Division Four League Cup Final Preview
Fulbrook Royals v Hutton Old Boys Reserves Saturday 23rd March 2013 at Billericay Town Kick Off 2.30pm
The first League Cup Final of the season sees a meeting of the East and West Divisions as Fulbrook Royals face Hutton Old Boys Reserves. The key to the game may well be if Hutton Old Boys Reserves miserly defence are able to stop Martin Newman who is currently the top scorer in the whole League with twenty six goals. Newman’s total is only four less than Hutton Old Boys Reserves have scored in the League. Hutton Old Boys Reserves defence has been their major strength as they have only conceded twelve goals in their last twelve games and three of those can in one game against Old Chelmsfordians Reserves.
Hutton Old Boys Reserves have found goals easier to come by in their Cup run as they have scored twenty goals and only conceded one goal in the four games on route to the Final. Fulbrook Royals though have shown a real fighting spirit having trailed in three of their four games with goal keeper Tony Robinson starring in their Semi Final win. Both teams warmed up for the Final with victories in their last game, Fulbrook Royals beating Old Parmiterians A 6-2 and Hutton Old Boys Reserves triumphing 3-2 at White Notley Reserves.
The only thing that could put a dampener on the occasion is the weather with snow forecast. The pitch has passed an inspection at 6pm on Friday. With the poor forecast Billericay Town will inspect again at 9am tomorrow morning. We will update the website immediately once the result of the inspection is known
