DIVISION ONE LEAGUE CUP FINAL MATCH REPORT
Hutton Old Boys 3 Shenfield 0
On another chilly night in Maldon it was Shenfield who started the brightest with some neat football but without much penetration.Hutton Old boys came more into the game after the initial twenty minutes but the only clear chance fell to the left foot of Trevor Paul who pulled his shot wide.
With no side giving their opponents much time on the ball it looked very much like the first half would remain goaless when Trevor Paul had another chance this time from a much tighter angle on the left side of the penalty box, this one he smashed past Gary Woods in the Shenfield goal.
Although Hutton Old Boys went into the break one up it was Shenfield who once again started the second half looking to take the game to the opposition but as in the first half they failed to create any clear cut chances and on thirty minutes Jason Brown found some space moving forward and hit a shot from outside the box that found the back of the net to put Hutton Old boys 2-0 up.
Ten minutes later following a free kick Leli Badega knocked in the third to wrap the game up which gave his Captain the opportunity to receive the Cup from the guest of Honour Eddie Rhymes, Chairman of the Essex County FA.
