DIVISION THREE LEAGUE CUP FINAL PREVIEW
Heath Park v Writtle Wednesday 17th April 2013 at Billericay Town Kick Off 7.30pm
The Division Three Cup Final sees a meeting of the top side in the West Division, Heath Park and the second placed side from the East Division, Writtle.
Heath Park have surprised even themselves during their first season in the League. The Cup Final will be their eleventh Cup game of the season having reached the County Cup Final where they lost to a late goal against Premier Division Little Thurrock Dynamos. Their season has been built on solid defending with a tough tackling midfield making their contribution to the team only conceding ten goals in the League. This is backed up by a battle to be top scorer which is currently being led by Paul Hayes with fourteen goals. Vinnie Webster is only one goal behind but he leads any spectacular goals competition being prepared to try his luck from any distance.
Heath Park can’t expect to have it all their own way as Writtle have the best defence in the East Division which is no mean achievement in a high scoring Division. Writtle also accounted Division Three South Champions elect Little Thurrock A in the Quarter Final by four goals to nil and only losing on penalties to Premier Division Springfield in the County Cup. Writtle’s other strength has been their goals have come from all over the park with sixteen of their twenty-one players hitting the net this season,
