GREENE KING ESSEX VETERANS LEAGUE NOVEMBER MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING UPDATE

20^th Anniversary Dinner

The Committee are delighted to confirm that we will be holding a dinner on Friday 14^th June 2012 at Ivy Hill Hotel, Margaretting to celebrate the 20^th Anniversary of the League. Tickets will be £30. More details will be circulated in the New Year.

Postponed Fixtures

We have had a number of fixtures called off at short notice. The fine levels are not set by the standard code of rules so we have agreed we will operate the following scale of fines this season. Fines for calling games off because you cannot field a team will be (1) Saturday less than two hours before kick off £50. (2) Saturday more than two hours before kick off £30 (3) Friday £20 and (4) before Friday £10.

Please also remember you must make personal contact with the opposition, the Referee and the Referee Appointment Secretary. Although the handbook states you must contact other League Officials the Referee Apointment Scretary will make that contact via email for you saving calls. Any fines for not making these contacts will be on top of the fines above. It is really important  because five or six times a season we will have Referees drop out on Saturday mornings, it saves the Referee Appointment Secretay numerous phone calls if he knows a game is off.

League Cup Finals

Billericay Town have kindly agreed to host our League Cup Finals. The dates are Saturday 23^rd March, Wednesday 3^rd April, Saturday 6^th April, Wednesday 17^th April and Saturday 20^th April.  The decision on which Finals will be played on which days will be made after the Finalists are known.
