LEAGUE ROUND UP

A round up has been sent to Club Secretaries concerning abandoned games, postponements, registrations and Rule changes for 2015/16. This information is reproduced below

Abandoned Games

In the first twenty years the League we did not have a single game abandoned due to the behaviour of players. We have now had four in the last nine months including two this season. This is of great concern to the Committee and I am sure to all competing Clubs. Under Rule 5(H) the League hereby issue an instruction that all Clubs must remind all players, officials and spectators of the attached Code of Conduct and that it is unacceptable for games to be abandoned due to inappropriate behaviour as this breaches numerous elements of the code of conduct. Should any Club by found guilty by their County Football Association of causing a game to be abandoned Clubs will be charged with being in breach of this instruction. The Committee will then ask the Club to attend a Personal Hearing with the League where the Club will need to put forward their reasons why the League should not apply either a heavy points deduction or recommend to other member Clubs that the Club involved be removed from the Competition

Postponement of Fixtures.

A reminder that if a fixture is postponed for any reason the Opponents, Referee and the League Referee Appointment Secretary must be contacted straight away. This must be done by personal contact. We have had a number of instances of teams or Referees turning up at grounds because they haven’t been advised. I have also been chasing round on a Saturday morning to find a Referee for a game when in fact a game was off which I wasn’t aware of. Also Committee Members do go out and watch games and we wouldn’t be impressed to travel to a game which is off because notification hasn’t been made to the League.

 Registrations

A reminder that the last day for signing players is Saturday 14th March 2015. Players can be signed on this date before games or the Registration form must be with the Registration Secretary on that date if your Club does not have a game on that date.

The item that has caused the Registration Secretaries most extra work this season is “signed on the day” forms not being submitted within two days. Forms must be received by the Tuesday after the games at the latest. Please kindly advise all team manages that the forms must be posted straight after the game so they can be received by the Tuesday at the very latest.

Rule Changes

Any proposed changes to the competition rules from Clubs must be submitted to me as League Secretary by 1st February 2015 at the latest. This is in accordance with Rule 20 of the handbook
