Premier Division
A minutes silence was observed before the Hutton Old Boys v PLA game in memory of Terry Murray. PLA then honoured his memory further with a battling display in a really entertaining encounter. Leli Bajada opened the scoring for Hutton Old Boys with a neat finish from a Paul Linger pass. Hutton could have been three up before PLA started applying the pressure. Just after the half hour mark a direct free kick Roy Edwards brought the scores level, then six minutes later a tap in from Martin Carthy put PLA ahead. A close second half including an amazing header off the line from PLA was finished off with Martin Carthy beating the Hutton Old Boys keeper to the ball to wrap up a 3-1 win. The game also featured a sure footed display by Referee Chris Lee. A fifteenth minute strike by Gabby Williams gave Met Police Chigwell the lead against Frenford Senior. Edward Nwachukwu extended their lead with a forty minute penalty before Frenford Senior pulled one back in the second half. White Notley moved up to fourth in the table thanks to a 6-1 win at Shenfield. Their goals came from Mark Lewington hat-trick, Stacey Dawes, Ross Foggo and Neil Twin. Springfield were also 6-1 winners their victims being Sungate. Leaders Little Thurrock Dynamos won 4-0 against Bowers & Pitsea (Vichouse)
Division One
Rosebay lead Britannia for 65 minutes thanks to a Benjamin Wakerly goal. Their hopes of a victory were thwarted by Wayne Gittens who netted in the last minute to again his side a point. Substitute Fraser Bay will be pushing for a place in the starting line up for Manford Way following his two goals against Beacon Hill Rovers. Scott Lavin and an own goal completed Manford Way’s scoring in their 4-1 victory. A single goal for Chipping Ongar against Old Parmiterians was enough to return them to the top of the table.
Division Two League Cup
West Essex gained revenge for their 2010 Semi Final defeat against Pavilion United thanks to goals from Anthon Chugs 2, Chris Bangura and Jason Richards. Dennis Rodway replied for the visitors. Also progressing to the Quarter Finals are Maidonians thanks to two second half goals against Leigh Ramblers.
Division Two East
Having lost to three late goals last week it was leaders Hawkwell Athletic’s turn to come from behind after Lee Brant had given Sporting Club Woodham a half time lead. Anthony Allen and Mike Cheevers did the damage in the second half. Tillingham Hotspur are hot on their heals after all the goals in their 3-2 home win over Herongate Athletic came in the first half. The visitor’s goals coming from Gary Glassfield and Martin Westacott in a five minute spell. Sturyan Nelson’s strike was enough to give White Ensign victory against FOBS (East Hanningfield). Disappointment for Cricketers Horndon Saxons who lead 4-1 at Dunmow Rhodes with just fifteen minutes to play but had to settle for a share of the spoils as the hosts hit back with goals by Mark Rosewell 2, Alan Bennett and David Badham.
Division Two West
Leaders Harold Wood Athletic were held to a one all draw by Little Thurrock Dynamos Reserves. A real ding dong game at Bishops Stortford where Old Parmiterians caught their hosts on the break twice in the first half to lead at half time. Bishops Stortford got back on level terms but immediately found themselves 3-2 down. Two goals in the last ten minutes gave Bishops Stortford a 4-3 victory but only with Old Parmiterians nearly scoring with the final touch of the game. Hale End Athletic triumphed 4-2 over local rivals Ryan.
Division Three East
Shenfield Reserves opened up a three point gap at the top of the table following a 5-1 win at Blackmore Royals Reserves. Silver End United moved up to third place after an excellent win at second placed Great Baddow. Simon Doman, Daniel Gray, Andrew Johnson and Miles Keeble doing the damage. Huw Evans 2, Mark Ashford and Warren Backhouse with a penalty were Chelmer Vets scorers in their 4-3 win over Henderson Casuals. A wider gap at Writtle where they won 7-0 against Peverel.
Division Three South
A close encounter between the top two with a single goal giving leaders Little Thurrock Dynamos A the points against Ford Basildon. Hockley & Hawkwell jumped up three places to third after beating Hannakins Farm 8-1 thanks to Matthew Langsley 3, Terry Baker 2, Mark Hope, Ian Rodd and Chris Purkiss. In the other game in the Division Sporting Club Woodham Reserves won 3-2 at Cricketers Horndon Saxons Reserves.
Division Three West
Leaders Heath Park’s 8-0 win over Met Police Chigwell Reserves included a Tony Medina hat trick and goals from Paul Hayes, Danny Heywood and Robbie Carrington. Rainham Working Mens Club kept up the chase in second place with goals from James Cottee, Martin Gibbs, David Matthews and Daniel O’Connell against Hornminster. Paul Cook replied with a brace.
Division Four League Cup
A first half goal at West Essex Reserves was enough for Runwell Hospital to secure home advantage in the Semi Final where they will meet Hutton Old Boys Reserves.
Division Four East
Chris Rackham and Paul Gray scored for Hannakins Farm Reserves in their first game since 10th November. Unfortunately for them Rayleigh managed three second half goals to take the points. Leaders Ludlows were held to a two all draw with Ford Basildon Reserves. Old Chelmsfordians Reserves beat Horndon 2-1.
Division Four West.
Braces from Steve Fletcher and Colin O’Neill gave Doddinghurst Olympic the points against Old Parmiterians who did make a fight of it with second half goals from Christopher Granger, Jonathan Walsh and Wayne Edwards. Tony Burke and Dave Rai were Harold Wood Athletic Reserves scorers in their win at Newport. Lowhall scored goals through Umesh Gadhvi and Chris Hall against Hornchurch but second half goals from Antony Woods and Lee Nightingill along with a winner four minutes from time by Jason Ward gave Hornchurch the points.
