MATCH REPORTS 14TH SEPTEMBER 2013


Premier Division

Hutton Old Boys title defence got off to the worst possible start as White Notley raced into a three goal lead. Hutton Old Boys couldn’t recover and the game finished 4-1 to their hosts thanks to goals from Gavin Bensley 2, Neil Twin and Shaun Clifford. Another team to win 4-1 were Manford Way who had Mark Brent, Darren Lavin and their two new signings for their victory over Springfield. The hosts reply was a stunner from Rod McGurk. Little Thurrock Dynamos also scored from times although Frenford Senior managed two in reply. Met Police Chigwell led Port of London Authority at half time thanks to a 37th minute goal by Gabby Williams. Stuart Jones added a second on the hour however Port of London scored twice in the second half to earn a point. Chipping Ongar also led by a single goal at half time against Shenfield but had to settle for a two all draw. Chipping Ongar’s goals coming from Matthew Kent and Shaun McGregor.

Division One

Old Chelmsfordians got their season off to a flying start against Beacon Hill Rovers. Brett Lattimore opened the scoring in the 27th minute and an own goal on 34 increased it. Nick Wright added a third three minutes before half time. Stephen Parry added a fourth on sixty eight minutes. That looked like the end of the scoring until Patrick Fairman scored twice in the last three minutes to make the final score six nil. Cricketers Horndon Saxons sealed the points against Hannakins Farm with a goal in the first half from Stephen Smallman and a Tanner Erdal penalty. Collier Row beat White Ensign 2-1 thanks to strikes by Christopher Catchpole and Ian Keller. Newbury Park won by the odd goal in seven against Old Parmiterians. The host’s goals came from Casca Hoy 2, Wayne Reader and one from their new signing.

Division Two East

Chelmer Vets got off to a good start following last season’s promotion with a 3-1 win over Tillingham Hotspur which included goals from Warren Backhouse and Paul Rippengale. Writtle who came up with them did not start as well as James Joliffe and Peter Fry goals condemned them to defeat against Sporting Club Woodham. Herongate Athletic beat Runwell Town 4-3 with the visitor’s goals from Dean Cook and two from their new signing. The other game in the division saw Pavilion United beat Ford Basildon three goals to two.

Division Two West

Heath Park carried on where the left off last season by beating Old Parmiterians Reserves 8-1. Their goals came from Daniel Brand and Neil Homes who both scored twice, Danny Creasey and substitutes Samuel Marks, Vinnie Webster and James Woodham. Maidonians were another team who made full use of their substitutes with Teddy Sherringham twice, Jason Beackon and Jason Friend all coming off the bench to score. They added to goals from Martin Bellamy and Keith Hoad as they beat Harold Wood Athletic 6-1. The host’s consolation came from their new signing. Andy Bates gave Bishops Stortford a half time lead against Debden Sports but the visitors hit back twice in the second half to win. All the goals in Hale End Athletic v Little Thurrock Dynamos Reserves came in the second half where two Darren Foss goals weren’t enough for the hosts as Little Thurrock Dynamos Reserves ran out 4-2 winners.

Division Three East

A high scoring game at The Drive were Martin Henderson 2, Danny Hudson, Terry Monksfield, Laurie Staerck and their new signing were amongst the scorers as Shenfield Reserves beat Silver End United 7-2. Silver End’s goals came from Craig Heard and Matthew Ings. Antal Patel gave FOBS the lead but Blackmore Royals hit back with four goals before a late Paul Callow penalty for FOBS completed the scoring. White Roding and Hatfield Broad Oak shared the points. Andrew Pearce 2 and Mathew Copland scored for White Roding with Nick Blackham-Hayward 2 and an Ian Das penalty replying for the visitors.

Division Three South

Another three all draw was at Hornminster with Graham Quant 2 and Steven McBride scoring however Malcolm Taylor, Rob Silvester and Dominic Markham earned Benfleet a point. Also sharing the points were Rainham Working Mens Club who led through Graham Page before Paul Enfield equalised for Hockley and Hawkwell in the second half. In the other games Hannakins Farm Reserves won 2-1 at Henderson Casuals and Sporting Club Woodham Reserves beat Ludlows by scoring four goals without reply.

Division Three West

Globe Rangers beat LOASS four nil in the meeting of two League newcomers. Plenty of goals in Harlow as Paringdon scored seven times thanks to Nathan Bethell 2, Tony Simmons 2, Jimmy Cochrane, Paul Munn and their new signing against Harold Wood Athletic Reserves whose two consolation goals came from Josef Kollar. Ryan beat Met Police Chigwell 4-2 thanks to strikes from Peter Dawes, Ricky Lock, Alan Walsh and Ian Wheal. A Michael Murray penalty was enough for William Fitt to beat Westhamians.

Division Four East

Rishi Mehrota scored on his debut of Academy Soccer but it wasn’t enough as Ford Basildon Reserves scored nine times in reply. A Darren Watkins hat-trick and two from Lee Wines gave Leigh Town victory against local rivals Leigh Ramblers Reserves by five goals to three. Leigh Ramblers Reserves replies included goals from James Davies and their new signing. Rayleigh beat Horndon 3-2 thanks to goals from Simon Beal 2 and Matt Bryon with Horndon’s goals coming in the second half from their new signing and a goal ten minutes from time by Jamie Bailey.

Division Four West

Fulbrook Royals scored twice in each half against Hatfield Broad Oak Reserves to take the points. Their scorers were Camelo Errar, Kevin Hunt, Martin Newman and their new signing. Old Barkabbeyans got their life in the League off to a great start with three second half goals against North Weald. Keith Gordon two and Ricky Riches did the damage. Not such a good start for Spartan Athletic as they lost 3-2 to Hornchurch as a result of a last minute goal by Antony Woods. Hornchurch’s other goals came in the first half from Lee Nightingill. One of Spartan’s replies came from Trevor Mackney. Matthew Rowlandson scored Newport’s goal as they shared the points with Sanders.

Over 45 Division

The new Over 45 Division kicked off with a flurry of goals as Old Parmiterians beat Newport 12-1. Newport’s goal coming from Alan East. Pavilion managed half of Old Parmiterians total against Hawkwell Athletic, Pavilion’s goals coming from Martin West 2, Paul Bradshaw, Tony Burnham, Lee Savage and Andrew Lloyd. Bealonians enjoyed their League debut with goals from Alan Marks 2, Barry Lane and Dean Palumbo giving them a 4-1 win at Hannakins Farm. Much closer at Frenford Senior where Doddinghurst Olympic left with a point thanks to a Clive Richards goal.
