MATCH REPORTS 2ND MARCH 2013

Premier Division League Cup Semi Finals

Little Thurrock Dynamos followed by last week’s County Cup Semi Final victory by progressing to the League Cup Final at the expense of Frenford Senior following a 2-1 win. In the Final they will meet Met Police Chigwell who beat Springfield in a closely contested game. Met Police took the lead after thirty-seven minutes when Springfield could only clear a corner to the edge of the area where Glen Leach retuned the ball with interest. The lead only lasted forty seconds as Rod McGurk did very well to head the ball over a stranded Alan Moore in the Met Police goal.  Stuart Jones thought he had won the game for Met Police with a neat finish with ten minutes remaining. This lead only last four minutes when following a short goal kick by Met Police the ball was then played straight to Rod McGurk who hammered the ball home.  As extra time progressed the game was heading for penalties until a nibble piece of foot work from Andy Yeoman surprised everyone (including the player himself) creating an opening enabling him to stab home the winner.
