Essex Saturday Veterans Cup 2nd Round

Port of London Authority progressed to the third round by beat West Essex by four goals to three. In the next round they will meet the winners of the game between Halstead Town and Leigh Ramblers.

Premier Division League Cup

Andy Vesey, Chris Anderson, Scott Lavin and Peter Sing all found the net as Manford Way beat Frenford Senior. A Gabby Williams hat trick helped take Met Police Chigwell into the next round as they beat Chipping Ongar 5-2. The other Met Police Chigwell scorers were Paul Rogan and Stuart Jones.

Premier Division

Shenfield picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory at second placed Springfield. Shenfield’s goals coming from Gregory Campbell 2 and Jason Swan.

Division One

Collier Row failing to score for the first time this season as they drew with Hannakins Farm. The point however was enough to take Collier  Row to the top of the table. Beacon Hill Rovers must have thought they were heading for their first win of the season when they lead 3-1 at half time against White Ensign. They hadn’t counted on Stuart Kavanagh scoring four second half goals to add to his first half strike to give White Ensign their first three point haul of the season instead. In the other game Newbury Park beat Cricketers Horndon Saxons 2-1

Division Two East

Two goals in each half against Hawkwell Athletic maintained Sporting Club Woodham’s lead at the top of the table as they won 4-2. Hawkwell Athletic’s replies came in the second half from David Blyth and Wayne Macpherson. Tillingham Hotspur are hot on their heals after a 5-1 win against Chelmer Vets whose goal came from a Warren Backhouse penalty. Ford Basildon recorded their first win of the season in fine style as they won 8-0 against Runwell Town. Other high scorers were Pavilion United who scored six times at Herongate Athletic who could only manage one goal in reply. Having scored eleven times last week Writtle couldn’t manage a goal this week against Leigh Ramblers as the game ended in a stalemate.

Division Two West

Heath Park kept their fifth clean sheet of the season in all competitions as they beat Hale End Athletic 3-0. Heath Park’s scorers were Danny Cressey 2 and Neil Homes. Maidonians leapfrogged Debden Sports into third place by goal difference thanks to their 7-2 win over Bishops Stortford. The visitors’ replies came from Joe Ferrick and Mark Hoddle. Debden Sports goals in their win over Harold Wood Athletic both came from Joseph Mulroue. Britannia picked up their first points of the season with a 6-2 win over Dunmow Rhodes.

Division Three League Cup

Little Waltham progressed to the next round with a 5-2 win at Shenfield Reserves. Little Waltham’s goals coming from Nicholas Hoffman, Lee Honeywood, Daniel Warner and two from their new signing. Another away team to score five times were Springfield Reserves at West Essex Reserves whose sole reply came from Roy Cox. Benfleet also progressed with two Rob Silvester goals and a further strike from Chris Haworth as they  beat Globe Rangers 3-2. Paringdon’s 100% record in all competitions looked in danger as they trailed 3-2 at halt time at Hannakins Farm Reserves however two second half goals saw the record maintained. Paringdon’s goals coming from Nathan Bethell 2, Michael White and Richard Stapleton.

Division Three East

White Roding extended their lead at the top of the table with a 5-2 win at Silver End United. White Roding’s goals coming via braces Graham Rider and Andrew Pearce, one a penalty, and a further penalty from Fraser Higgs. A surprise result at Great Baddow where FOBS picked up their first points of the season and also their first win ever over boogie team Great Baddow with a 3-2 win. Goals from Barry Monseque, Pete Jiggins and Jack Tuckerman gave FOBS the lead but they were hanging on after two goals in the last ten minutes brought a tense finish. Just up the road Old Chelmsfordians Reserves won by the same score line against Blackmore Royals.

Division Three South

Little Thurrock Dynamos Reserves won by a single goal at Sporting Club Woodham Reserves to move four points clear at the top of the table. Henderson Casuals moved up to third thanks to a 6-0 win at Ludlows.

Division Three West

LOASS matched Collier Row from Division One’s weekend with a goalless draw against Westhamians taking them to the top of the table. Sungate Reserves kept up their 100% record with a 11-2 win at Harold Wood Athletic Reserves. The hosts goals coming from Josef Kollar and Leonard Clark. William Fitt joined Sungate Reserves on nine points with a four nil win at Ryan.

Division Four League Cup

Cliff Bilby’s goal was a pure consolation as they crashed out of the cup by six goals to one against Rayleigh.

Division Four East

Runwell Hospital are enjoying their best to a season in the nine years they have been in the League. Their 3-2 win against Leigh Town was their third win of the season which matches their best achievement in a whole season. Leigh Town’s goals came from Robert Scholes and Darren Watkins.

Division Four West

North Weald’s defence managed to keep the Division’s leading scorer Ricky Riches of Old Barkabbeyans quiet but could do nothing about Christopher Burberry’s excellent 49th minute free kick that won the game for the visitors. Fulbrook Royals maintained both their 100% record and the chase of the leaders with a 3-2 win at Hatfield Broad Oak Reserves. Fulbrook Royals goals coming from Dave Newbery 2 and Camelo Errar. Paul Plowman got the only goal of the game as Sanders beat West Essex A.  A good day for Cricketers Horndon Saxons Reserves who recorded their first win in eighteen attempts in the league thanks goals from Garry Read 2 and Daniel Middleditch as they beat Old Parmiterians A by three goals to two. First half goals from Michael McNamara and Mark North gave White Roding Reserves victory over Newport despite Paul Schofield pulling one back for the visitors in the second half.

Over 45 Division

Leaders Pavilion United were held to a one all draw at Old Parmiterians. Pavilion United’s goal came from Martin West. Bealonians are now two points behind the leaders with a game in hand as hat tricks from Alan Marks and Dean Palumo gave them a 6-2 win against Doddinghurst Olympic. The visitors replies coming from Paul Boor and Steven Mann. First half goals from Timothy Drake, Bryan Lee and Gary White gave Peverel  a 3-1 half time lead against Frenford Senior however the visitors scored twice in the second half to earn a point.
