MATCH REPORTS 5TH OCTOBER 2013


Premier Division

Little Thurrock Dynamos opened up a two point gap at the top of the table thanks to a two nil victory over Port of London Authority. Springfield are their nearest challengers following their 3-1 win over Shenfield. Hutton Old Boys are finding their form with second half braces from Leli Bajada and Trevor Paul giving them the points against Frenford Senior. Manford Way suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday. They had been level with Met Police Chigwell at half time thanks to Che Stadhart matching Nick Taylor’s strike however Steve Stapleton scored Met Police Chigwell’s winner in the second half.

Division One

West Essex have really taken to life in Division One following last season’s promotion. This week Cricketers Horndon Saxons were put to the sword with Ken Bonsu leading the way with a hat trick. Anthony Chugs with a brace and single strikes from Chris Bangura, Clay Vache and Jason Richards completing the 8-1 win. Hannakins Farm picked up their first points for the season thanks to a single goal victory over Beacon Hill Rovers. Newbury Park and White Ensign shared eight goals at The Academy with the visitor’s efforts coming from Gary Benson 2, John Cox and Barry Vickery.

Division Two East

Chelmer Vets lost their 100% victory as a result of their goalless draw with Leigh Ramblers. Sporting Club Woodham also lost their 100% record theirs going following the 2-2 draw at Herongate Athletic. The visitor’s goals coming from Stephen Swift and Matthew Vaughan. Hawkwell Athletic enjoyed their visit to Pavilion United as they came back with the points thanks to goals from Paul Mann 2, Trevor Sallery 2 and Christopher Search. Runwell Town and Ford Basildon both picked up their first points of the season as they shared the spoils in a 1-1- draw. All the goals at Writtle came in the second half where Gary Sonnex scored for the hosts but the visitor’s replied through Paul Carrington and Scott Jones.

Division Two West

Something had to give at Oliver Road where the early pace setters Maidonians and Heath Park met. It has Heath Park who emerged victorious by seven goals to two thanks to Billy Wilson 2, Danny Cressey 2, Neil Homes, Scott Pether and substitute Justin Scollard. Little Thurrock Dynamos are now in second place after their 4-1 win at Dunmow Rhodes. A Tony Maslin hat trick and Richard Rones gave Debden Sports victory in the local derby with Britannia.

Division Three League Cup

Little Waltham made comfortable progress in the Cup with a 7-1 win over Henderson Casuals. Remarkable they were the only home side to triumph in the six ties played this week. Little Waltham will travel to Shenfield Reserves in the next round who progressed thanks to six goals without reply against Ryan. Paringdon and Silver End United both progressed with 3-0 away wins against Blackmore Royals and Hornminster respectively. Also shutting their opponents out were Globe Rangers who scored twice to progress at Ludlows expense. The closest game was at LOASS where Andrew Barrow’s strike wasn’t enough for the hosts who went out 2-1 against Hannakins Farm Reserves.

Division Three East

With other sides in Cup action White Roding took advantage to open up a gap at the top of the table as Fraser Higgs 2, Tommy King and Andrew Pearce gave them the points against Old Chelmsfordians Reserves. Lee Forester’s second half equaliser gave Springfield Reserves a point against Great Baddow.

Division Three South

Paul Enfield scored for Hockley & Hawkwell in the first half against Hutton Old Boys Reserves but it turned out to be a consolation as the visitors scored five times in reply. Little Thurrock Dynamos A and Benfleet played out a thriller with Benfleet leading 3-1 at halt time. Little Thurrock Dynamos A hit back in the second to win 5-4. Ian Harrison 2, Wayne Gannon 2 and Stuart Gibson completing the comeback. Benfleet’s goals came from Kevin Johnson 2, Jon Firman and Rob Silvester.

Division Three West

West Essex Reserves and Met Police Chigwell Reserves decided to hold their own “Goal of the Month” competition at Rolls Park. Mark Robson started it off with a well timed run to meet a cross and send the ball into the far corner to put Met Police Chigwell Reserves one up. Mark Manangan then equalised with a stunning goal which was a thumping shot on the turn which if it had been scored in the Barclays Premier League we would be seeing replays for years to come. Unfortunately for West Essex Reserves in the second half Stuart Wilson produced a delightful chip from the edge of the box to seal the win for Met Police Chigwell Reserves. In the other game in the Division Sungate Reserves beat William Fitt 4-1.

Division Four League Cup

Joe Skingley gave West Essex A a19th minute lead against Horndon. Alan Gilbert sealed their progress with a 68th minute strike. Second half strikes from Tom Chawner, William McRae and Paul Plowman meant Sanders progressed at Academy Soccer’s expense. First half goals from Mark Ashford and their new signing meant Chelmer Reserves led 2-1 at half time at Hatfield Broad Oak Reserves however they couldn’t hold on and went out 3-2 following an extra time goal.

Division Four East

Valley Green picked up their first ever Essex Veterans League point following a 1-1 draw with Rayleigh. Alan Stanlick’s second half goal for Forest Glade wasn’t enough to overhaul first half strikes from Sinclair Walton and Leigh Rambler Reserves new signing.

Division Four West

Second half goals from Lee Brown and Kevin Williams maintained Old Barkabbeyans 100% start as beat Cricketers Horndon Saxons Reserves. Fulbrook Royals are another side who maintained their 100% start as they beat Hornchurch3-1 which is the first points Hornchurch have dropped.  Fulbrook Royals goals came from Martin Newman 2 and Ian Aldridge. MARK Black’s strike for Hornchurch was the first goal Fulbrook have concede this term. Goals from Rob Mackney and Mark Shade were enough to give Spartan Athletic the points against Newport who replied via Antony Bunting. North Weald led 2-1 at half term but White Roding Reserves struck twice after the break to take the points. White Roding Reserves goal came from Lee Cook 2 and Steve Mills.

Over 45 Division

Goal scoring star of the day was Paul King of Herongate Athletic who found the net seven times against Hannakins Farm. William Thompson added an eighth. Hannakins Farm had the consolation of being the first team to breach the Herongate defence this season as a result of goals from Peter Wyatt and Steve Auvache. Peverel are in second place thanks to a hat trick from Paul Boyden and a goal from Timothy Drake giving them the points against Frenford Senior. Both the other games finished in 2-1 home victories for Bealonains and Glassmasters against Old Parmiterians and Doddinghurst Olympic respectively
