MATCH REPORTS 9TH FEBRUARY 2013


Premier Division

Leaders Little Thurrock Dynamos extended their winning streak to ten games in all competitions with a 6-2 victory at Shenfield. Met Police Chigwell kept up the chase thanks to a 35th minute strike from Stuart Jones at Frenford Senior. Mark Lewington, Nicholas Mayn and Neil Twin scored from White Notley to earn them a point at Bowers & Pitsea (Vichouse).

Division One League Cup

Herongate Athletic gained revenge for last week’s league defeat by Britannia by beating their hosts 3-2 to earn a Semi Final tie against Chipping Ongar.

Division One

Manford Way returned to the top of the table for the first time since 12th October 2012 thanks to goals from Anthony Driscoll 2, Fraser Bay 2, Scott Lavin and Andy Vesey against Rosebay. Chipping Ongar dropped to second as a result of their goalless draw with Old Chelmsfordians. Far more goals at Beacon Hill Rovers where the hosts beat Newbury Park 5-3.

Division Two League Cup

Sporting Club Woodham continue to hold the Indian sign over West Essex in Cup competitions. Paul Fry got the ball rolling for the hosts in the 13th minute then Neil Curtis and Keith Pope both scored in a five minute spell before half time. Lee Brant completed the scoring in the 67th minute. Sporting Club Woodham will meet Dunmow Rhodes in the Semi Final following the latter’s 3-0 win over Maidonians. Dunmow Rhodes goals were scored by Ben Hogan 2 and David Badham.

Division Two East

FOBS (East Hanningfield) gave up home advantage to get their game with leaders Hawkwell Athletic played and it looked like it would pay off as they were a goal up at half time. Hawkwell Athletic showed they are top for a good reason as a Trevor Sallery hat trick in the second half and a further goal from Wayne Macpherson gave them a 4-3 victory. FOBS (East Hanningfield)’s scorers were Dave Alexander, Paul Callow and Graham Hart. Tillingham Hotspur stayed hot on Hawkwell’s heals with a 6-0 win against Pavilion United. Another team to lose a half time lead were Herongate Athletic Reserves who took a 10th minute lead through James Harrington at Cricketers Horndon Saxons. Martin Westacott also scored with five minutes remaining for the visitors but it was not enough to counter act the hosts three second half strikes.

Division Two West

Plenty of goals at Ryan where Chris Satchwell 2 and Ricky Lock scored for the hosts, unfortunately for them Bishops Stortford scored seven in reply with a Steve Preshous hat-trick, two from Joe Ferrick and Andrew Green amongst their scorers. Collier Row managed to play their first game since 17th November 2012 and it was unsurprising they lost 3-1 to Little Thurrock Dynamos Reserves after such a long break.

Division Three League Cup Quarter Final

For the second week running Debden Sports gave up home advantage in order to get their game played. They were rewarded this week with a 4-0 win over Runwell Town although it took extra time before they got their first goal.

Division Three East

The top two shared six goals for the second consecutive week, this time though Great Baddow scored four of them to draw level on points with Shenfield Reserves. Silver End United kept up the chase with a 3-1 win at Chelmer Vets. Warren Backhouse scored in the first half for the hosts with the replies coming from Daniel Gray 2 and Matthew Ings. Writtle are also in the hunt following their 6-0 win against Blackmore Royals Reserves. Barry Rawlinson scored in the first half for White Roding ended up losing 2-1 to Henderson Casuals. In the other game in the Division Peverel lost 5-3 to Springfield Reserves.

Division Three South

Six was the number of the day for Ford Basildon as the opened up a six point gap on the third placed Hockley & Hawkwell thanks to a 6-2 win over Hannakins Farm.

Division Three West

Rainham Working Mens Club stay top following their one all draw with William Fitt. Rainham’s goal came from Tony Mason with Andrew Barrow getting William Fitt’s goal. Heath Park closed the gap to one point on the leaders as Samuel Marks, Vinnie Webster, Paul Hayes and Billy Wilson scored against Hornminster who had been level at half time thanks to Paul Cook’s goal. Paringdon made light of the fact they hadn’t played since 1st December 2012 when they took a 2-0 half time lead against Met Police Chigwell Reserves. No further goals secured the points for the visitors.

Division Four League Cup Semi Final

Hutton Old Boys Reserves earned their place in the Final with a 6-0 victory at Runwell Hospital in a game that for a long time was closer than in sounds. Hutton Old Boys Reserves had taken a 3rd minute via an own goal and although they had most of the possession Runwell Hospital were creating the better chances including four corners in a row which took the Hutton players putting their bodies on the line to keep the ball out. Hutton Old Boys Reserves extended their lead in the 50th minute when they netted the rebound after the Runwell Hospital keeper had saved a penalty. Runwell Hospital kept battling away until Hutton Old Boys added their third after 68 minutes which opened the flood gates.

Division Four East

Horndon took they lead after 10 minutes through Sean Boswell against Hannakins Farm who equalised before half time thanks to Puran Sadnani. Hamit Mehmet restored Horndon’s lead in the 66th minute and then Sean Boswell confirmed they would move to the top of the table with his second with twelve minutes to go. Ludlows are third in the table with Old Chelmsfordians Reserves fourth after the pair drew two all. White Notley Reserves picked up their first points since 10th November 2012 with a 4-3 win over Academy Soccer. White Notley’s goals coming from Wayne Dyson 2, Jason Gispson and Justin Ward.

Division Four West.

Leaders Doddinghurst Olympic kept up their run of high scoring games with a 5-3 win over Fulbrook Royals. Doddinghurst’s leading scorer Trevor Sharpling scored twice to take his total for the season to fourteen with David Snowden, John Pugh and Paul Boor getting the other goals. Fulbrook Royals replied through Kevin Hunt, Dave Newbery and Martin Newman. West Essex Reserves moved up to third place as a result of their 4-0 win over Newport. Peter Skinner gave the hosts a half time lead, which Paul Cox extended with a goal two minutes into the second half. Peter Skinner added his second in the 56th Minute with Darren Johnson completing the scoring in the 68th minute. Umesh Gadhvi second half strike for Lowhall against Old Parmiterians A was cause for celebration as it earned them their first points since 29th September 2012.
