Division Three League Cup

Despite two second half goals from Kevin Fuller and Paul Rippengale for Chelmer Vets it was not enough to keep them in the Cup as Westhamians marched through 4-2 to earn a home tie with North Weald in the second round thanks to a Danny Evans hat-trick and one from Richie Hill.

Division Three East

Springfield Reserves recovered from the opening day defeat by hitting Peverel for six. Ben Dabell and Kevin Frost both scored twice with Tony Speight and Tony Warner adding the others. Peverel could only manage a goal in each half in reply. Division Four East

Horndon appear to be really taking to the League restructuring. A second consecutive victory puts them on top of the table and gives them more points than they gained in the whole of last season .Vince Boswell, Jamie Bailey and a first goal in four years from Paul Cook were the scorers in the 3-2 victory over Academy Soccer.  Robin Kiddle was one of the scorers for White Notley Reserves in their 2-0 win over Runwell Hospital. More successful on their travels were Ludlows who won 5-3 at Hannakins Farm. The home sides goals coming from Alberici, Cornell and Sadnani. Also victorious on the road were Old Chelmsfordians Reserves who won at Ford Basildon Reserves.

A good day for Lowhall who recorded their first victory on the field of play for over twelve months. A penalty each from Steve Law and Steve Beckles along with a strike from Alan Gilbert accounted for Hornchurch who’s reply came from Lee Nighingill. Goals from Nick Blackham-Hayward and John Newman gave Hatfield Broad Oak the perfect start to the season as they saw off neighbours Newport. Fulbrook Royals maintained their 100% record thanks to two goals from Dave Newbery and one from Martin Newman in their 3-2 win over Doddinghurst Olympic. Josef Kollar twice and Tony Burke scored before half time for Harold Wood Athletic Reserves against Old Parmiterians Reserves but it was not enough as the visitors scored six times in reply.
