MATCH REPORTS SATURDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2012


Premier Division

Gavin Bensley, Stacey Dawes and Neil Twin scored for White Notley to put them 3-1 up with against Little Thurrock Dynamos with twenty minutes to play but they ran out of steam as the visitors scored four late goals to take the points home. Met Police Chigwell condemned last season Champions PLA to their first defeat of the season thanks to goals from Glen Leach, Darren Oliver, Laurence Smith and an own goal. Last Season’s runner’s up Bowers & Pitsea (Vichouse) were held to a one all draw by newly promoted Frenford Senior. After their 10-0 mauling last week, Sungate didn’t fair much better this week as the conceded nine goals without replying at Hutton Old Boys. A Rod McGurk hat-trick and one from Lee Forster gave Springfield their first win of the season 4-1 against Shenfield.

Division One

Two goals from Britannia substitute Joel Nathan were not enough as Chipping Ongar scored three in reply. The highest scoring game in the Division was at the Douglas Erye Centre where hosts Old Parmiterians won 6-3 against Newbury Park. A Matthew Groom goal for Old Chelmsfordians brought to an end Manford Way’s one hundred percent record although they did earn a point thanks to Daniel Lavin’s penalty. The other game in the Division saw Beacon Hill Rovers beat Rosebay 2-0

Division Two League Cup

A solitary goal was enough for Maidonians to progress to the second road of the Cup at the expense of Herongate Athletic Reserves

Division Two East

Goals from Creak, Debell and James gave Sporting Club Woodham gave their second 3-2 away win of the season, this time at Pavilion United who replied via David Church and Chris Jones. Leigh Ramblers enjoyed their first home game of the season as they beat local rivals White Ensign 3-1 thanks to two goals from Howard Mackler with their third coming from Andrew Lawrence. Cricketers Horndon Saxons drew three a piece with Hawkwell Athletic. Only goal difference separated FOBS (East Hanningfield) and Tillingham Hotspur last season as the both won promotion. It was a different story at Hanna’s Field on Saturday with Tillingham cruising to an 8-2 victory.

Division Two West

Harold Wood Athletic’s new signings scored three goals and Wayne Robinson added another two as they overcame Bishops Stortford who replies came from Stuart Crowhurst 2 and Stuart Atkinson. West Essex’s goals came from Chris Bangura 3, Yomi Adu and Jason Richards as they beat Collier Row who’s goals came from Neil Stanfield and Chris Catchpole. Smith, Warne and Webb gave Little Thurrock Dynamos Reserves a 3-1 half time lead but they couldn’t hold on as leaders Hale End Athletic triumphed 4-3.

Division Three League Cup

Silver End United had sealed their progress to the next round by half time with a comfortable 5-0 lead against Cricketers Horndon Saxons Reserves. Jason Fletcher 2, Matthew Ings 2, Darren Ely, Daniel Gray, Craig Heald and an Andrew Johnson penalty completed the 8-2 win. Another team to score eight were White Roding thanks to Matthew Copland 2, Dominic Boom, Lee Foster, Tommy King, Douglas Rowe, Francesco Ricci and an own goal against Hannakins Farm. Neil Holmes 3, Vinnie Webster 3 (1 pen)  and Danny Henwood 2 accounted for the eight goals Heath Park scored against Henderson Casuals who’s consolation goals came from Paul Hardee and Steve Michaels. After their ten goals last week there were nine goals in Little Thurrock Dynamos game this week, their six came from Michael Dillon 2, Glen Engwell and three from a player signed on the day of the game. Springfield Reserves contribution to the entertainment came from Kevin Bellmay, David Storkey and their new signing.

Stephen Hales, Bill Smith and Colin Yellop scored for Runwell Town in the trip to William Fitt who managed a consolation goal from Stephen Ramsey. A late Paul Cook goal enabled Hornminster to beat Great Baddow. A thrilling encounter at Shenfield saw their Reserves draw five all after extra time with Paringdon but the visitors won the penalty shoot out 8-7.

Bradley Ward and a penalty from a new signing gave Rainham Working Mens Club a 2-1 victory at Ford Basildon. Terry Sharpe 2 and Stuart Wilson 2 made Met Police Chigwell Reserves long trip to play Peverel worthwhile as the hosts could only manage two goals in reply. Other teams to progress to the next round were Sanders and Writtle.

Division Four League Cup

Not a good day for Ford Basildon as both of their teams exited their respective cups 2-1. Fulbrook Royals success was thanks to Ian Aldridge and Martin Newman. Hutton Old Boys Reserves made comfortable progress thanks to a 4-0 win over Hatfield Broad Oak.

Division Four East

Chris Abbott got the only goal from White Notley Reserves visit to Academy Soccer. Rayleigh took over top stop from previous leaders Horndon thanks to a 3-1 home win. The visitors reply came from Eddie Cull. Colin Foley and a new signing gave Ludlows the points from the short trip to Runwell Hospital. For the second week on the trot Hannakins Farm Reserves three goals weren’t enough to win the game at least the strikes from Martin Isted, Wesley Wren and Paul Grey gave them a point against Old Chelmsfordians Reserves.

Division Four West.

Doddinghurst Olympic hit a magnificent seven thanks to Mann 2, Pritchard 2, Sharpling 2 and Doree against Hornchurch who’s sharp shooter was Barrett. Newport one for the first time this season as Colin Cracknell, Toby Croucher and Tony Bunting accounted for Lowhall who replied via Gilbert and Gadhvi. A Curran penalty and a Darren Johnson goal weren’t enough for West Essex Reserves as Harold Wood Athletic Reserves scorers were Kollar, Norman, Penfold and a Burke penalty.
