OVER 45 REPRESENTATIVE SIDE
On 19th February 2019 the Over 45 Representative side played the Southend Borough Combination (SBCVL) Over 45 side at the Len Forge Centre in Southend. This was part of the Essex Inter League which is retrying to re-establish representative football in Essex. The match was also used to raise money for HARP, a local Southend Charity, who help the homeless. Nearly £200 was raised from the fixture.
A competitive first half saw the League side go into the break ahead by a single goal, although this was only due to some fine saves by Mark Hanning the SBCVL goalkeeper.
In the second half the superior fitness and the regular competitive games played by the League players showed through with the League side winning 5-0.
