Aug 8, 2020 — Secretary Annual Report 2020

I doubt I will ever have a write a stranger Annual Report than this one. A season that was progressing really well, suddenly came to a halt due to COVID19. We now all live in a very different world which will make next season very different as well. I hope that everyone connected with the League is safe and well, however I am sure that some people will have lost love ones during this time. Our thoughts are very much with all of you in particular.

Summary of League Management Committee Meeting 30th July 2020 The 2020/21 Season is likely to look and feel very different due to COVID-19. With this in mind the following matters were discussed and decisions made on Thursday night.

Jun 18, 2020 — League Update

There are early indications that Non-League football may return in September. With this in mind the League will be writing to all Clubs asking them if they are running teams next year and if so which age groups. It is important that all Clubs reply so we can start work on looking at which Divisions we place sides in for next season so we can try to provide as much football as possible.

Apr 27, 2020 — League Update

As you will be aware The Football Association have made the decision for grassroots football that no further League games for the season 2019/20 will be played. The Essex FA have provided the Management Committee with details of the options available to us.

Mar 31, 2020 — Season 2019/20 Update

The FA have announced that no further games will be played in the 2019/20 season. The County FA will be arranging meetings with Leagues to give further information so the League can decide the way forward.

Mar 17, 2020 — League Suspended

The Football Association have suspended all grassroots football including friendlies and training. This means the League is suspended until further notice.

The League Management Committee have been faced with the very difficult decision on whether to continue playing or cancel the season now?

Mar 3, 2020 — League Sponsorship

After fifteen years Greene King have informed us that this will be the last season they will be sponsoring the League. During Greene King’s sponsorship the League has nearly trebled in size. We would like to thank Greene King for their sponsorship and the contribution they have made to the growth of Veterans Football in Essex.

Mar 3, 2020 — Applications to Join the League Now Open

If you wish to join the League for the 2020-21 season applications are now open. The last date for applications to be received are 16th April 2020. Existing Clubs will be contacted separately in April about next season.
