Jun 10, 2017 Secretary Annual Report
Writing this year’s Annual Report was far more pleasurable than last seasons. There was extra work for both League Officers and Clubs which are covered later in my report however this puts the League in a strong position going into our 25th Season.
Mar 24, 2017 Registrations 2017/18
For next season we will be moving to online Registrations via the Whole Game System. Once the system is up and running it will save Clubs and the League massive amounts of time and will remove a large number of the Registration issues and player eligibility problems we currently have.
Mar 24, 2017 AGM Date Change
Due to a change in Essex County Cricket Club's fixtures the AGM will now take place on Thursday 15th June 2017
Mar 1, 2017 Reg Wheal Funeral Details
Reg Wheal’s Funeral will take place on Friday 24th March 2017 at Pitsea Crematorium. Kick off time is 2pm. Reg’s family have requested that no black is worn. They have also requested that it is family flowers only. In place of flowers donations to Cancer Research would be appreciated.
Feb 19, 2017 Reg Wheal of Ford Basildon
It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Reg Wheal the long-time Secretary of Ford Basildon passed away on Friday. Reg was involved with Ford’s for over 50 years including serving on League Committees.
Sep 8, 2016 Sad News
Over the summer we have received the sad news of the passing of three people involved with the League Colin Williams who played for Old Parmiterians Over 45’s and Herongate Athletic Over 50’s on Sunday, Mick Riley who played for Chelmer Vets and was joint Manager of the team and Chris Manley who refereed on the League for many years all passed away during the closed season Our thoughts are with all their Families and friends at this sad time
Aug 15, 2016 Leigh Ramblers
Leigh Ramblers have advised us that they do not have enough Over 45 players to complete the season so would like to return to the Over 35 competition.

The Laws of the Game have undergone a major re-write during the sunner. The Amateur Football Alliance have produced the following summary of items that effect grassroots football.

The Annual General Meeting of the Greene King Essex Veterans League Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 8th June 2016 commencing 7.30pm. This will be held at The Premier Suite, Essex County Cricket Club, New Writtle Street, Chelmsford CM2 0PG. Please note access is via a staircase

I normally write this report as being a summary of the League activity from the League’s perceptive. This year it is my own personal views and should not be taken as the views or opinions of the League. Until this season I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of being involved in the League as a player, Club Official, League Officer, Referee and just watching games being played.
