CONSTITUTION 2026/27

Over 35's

This seasons Constitution for the Over 35’s has been particularly difficult with no ideal solution. We are now down to seventy Over 35 teams.

The issue was whether to move to seven Divisions of ten or to keep the current format for one more season with a restructure for 2027/28. The issue with going to seven Divisions this season is some teams who finished in fifth place would need to be moved to a higher Division.

The Committee have decided to run with the current structure this season and for season 2027/28 we will move to seven Divisions. The restructure for 2027/28 will mean the following:

Division One East and West

Champions will move up

Second place teams may move up.

Division Two East and West

Top two teams will be move up

Teams finishing third and fourth may move up

Division Three East, South and West

Top two teams will move up

Teams finishing third may move up.

There will only be two Division Three’s in 2027/28

Relegation

Relegation from all Divisions will depend on whether the Committee consider the teams finishing in relegation positions in each Division should go down or not. This will depend on results and gaps in structure.

We will look to run the League Management Trophy to provide extra fixtures for teams if Divisions finish early. A decision on this will be made at the December or January Committee meeting.

Regional Splits

Should any Over 35’s teams drop out before 1^st September 2026 then the regional split will be reviewed and teams may be moved to a different side of the regional split. For example, if following a drop out we ended up with nine in one Division and seven in another, we would move to an eight/eight split.

Over 45's

The only change is in Division Two where there will be Central, North and West Divisions

Over 55's

We have fourteen teams so there will be two Divisions of seven. These have been split based on geography, strength and keeping apart teams from the same Club. The teams will play each other home and away with the aim to get these games played by 31st January 2027.

There will then be "Play Offs" to decide final positions. The aim will be to split teams into groups decided on initial finishing positions with games played on a League basis. The exact format would be decided once we know when original fixtures will be completed. Our calculations would mean a minimum 18 League games per team.

The winners of the “top” play off group will be Champions. There will not be medals or Trophies for finishing top of your initial group.
