MATCH REPORTS 21ST SEPTEMBER 2013


Premier Division

Little Thurrock Dynamos are the early leaders and the only side with a one hundred per cent record after two games following their eight nil win over Chipping Ongar. Hutton Old Boys have now lost as many games this season as they did in the whole of last as Springfield were victorious by three goals to two. Manford Way and White Notley are joint second following their draw on Saturday. Manford Way’s goals coming from Darren Levin and Andy Vesey with White Notley replying via Gavin Beesley and Mark Lewington.  Met Police Chigwell and Shenfield met on Saturday and are tied in fifth place having drawn both their games two all.

Division One

Old Chelmsfordians are the early leaders as Tim Bruce gave them a 23rd minute lead against Hannakins Farm from the penalty spot. Stephen Parry after 55 minutes added to the scoring with an own goal three minutes later completing their scoring. Michael Palmer replied for Hannakins Farm. In second place are Collier Row who had Christopher Catchpole, Kevin Edwards and Niki Hunte for their goals as they won 3-2 at Beacon Hill Rovers. Chris Bangura and Anthony Chugs scored forty goals between them for West Essex as they won promotion last season. They both got up and running in their first game this season as Bangura got a hat trick and Chugs two as they beat Newbury Park 5-1. The visitors reply came from Casca Hoy although they weren’t helped by ill discipline which saw Newbury Park finish the game with nine men. Old Parmiterians bounced back from defeat last week by beating White Ensign 7-3.

Division Two East

Lee Brant, Neil Curtis and Russell White gave Sporting Woodham a 3-1 win over Ford Basildon. Leigh Ramblers also won by the same score line when they played at Herongate Athletic. Steve Potton, Colin Wall and Tony Phillips got the Ramblers goals. Chelmer Vets came back from a two goal half time deficit against Hawkwell Athletic to win 4-3. Warren Backhouse with two and Paul Rippengale with one were amongst the scorers. David Sheppard opened the scoring after ten minutes for Tillingham Hotspur against Runwell Town. Mark Hubbard added a second on the half hour with Neal Hales completing the scoring for the hosts just before the hour mark. In the other game Writtle beat Pavilion United two goals to nil.

Division Two West

A Division with plenty of goals this week. Having scored eight times last week Heath Park only managed seven against Harold Wood Athletic this week. The goals coming from Danny Creasey 3, Daniel Brand 2, Neil Homes and substitute Danny Heywood. Maidonians also managed seven goals as they beat Britannia although their visitors did manage to score a goal in reply. There were twelve goals at Debden Sports with the hosts scoring nine of them against Dunmow Rhodes. Debden Sports goal scorers were Tony Maslin 4, Steve Game 2, Andrew Binet, Andy Taylor and an own goal. A much closer game at Bishops Stortford where Little Thurrock Dynamos Reserves won by the odd goal in five.

Division Three East

White Roding picked up their first win of the season thanks to an Andrew Pearce hat trick and single strikes from Matthew Copland and Douglas Rowe against Blackmore Royals whose reply came from Stephen Shaw. Great Baddow came back form Silver End United with a 4-2 win as Lee Sellick scored a hat trick and Phil Masek added the other. Another team to score four times away from home were Old Chelmsfordians Reserves at FOBS. James Hall 2, Martin Hooper and their new signing doing the damage. Paul Callow scored for the second week running for FOBS. Stewart Blair, Stewart Dennis and Andrew Potter got Springfield Reserves season off to the best start against Hatfield Broad Oak who just had a first half strike from Andrew Lange to show for their efforts. Little Waltham’s first game in the Competition ended in a two all draw at Shenfield Reserves.

Division Three South

Six was a popular number in this Division with Hannakins Farm Reserves who have got off to a flying start this season scoring that number against Hornminster. James Pepper and their new signing both scored twice with Lee Barr being amongst the goals. Graham Quant scored Hornminster’s consolation. Hutton Old Boys Reserves also won by the same score a Benfleet whose goal came from Dominic Markham. Little Thurrock Dynamos six goals against Henderson Casuals came from Rob Clarke 3, Lee Clarke 2 and Gary Warne 1. This game was closer though as Henderson Casuals managed four replies. Jeff Watson scored two first half goals for Ludlows as they were level at the break with Hockley and Hawkwell however the visitors got two more in the second half to take the points. Darren Hawks, Matthew Langsley Ian Rodd and Jon Ward were Hockley and Hawkwell scorers. Much closer at Sporting Club Woodham Reverses were Daniel Holloway and Jason Dolan scored for the home team however Rainham Working Mens Club took the spoils by scoring three times.

Division Three West

Globe Rangers appear to be enjoying life in the League with a second consecutive win. This time by six goals to two against Ryan. The visitors’ replies came from Ricky Lock and Tony Young. West Essex Reserves took the lead on 26 minutes thanks to their new signing against Westhamians. Phil Curran wrapped up the points with a penalty fourteen minutes from time.

Division Four East

Rayleigh are the early pace setters after they beat Peverel by four goals to one. The Horndon Manager’s team talk clearly worked against Leigh Town after they trailed at half time despite a tenth minute goal from Jamie Bailey. Michael Westmore scored twice in the second half and Jamie Bailey also scored twice to complete his hat trick as Horndon won 5-3.  Two new teams met at Rickstones Recreation Ground where Chelmer Reserves triumphed by five goals to two against Valley Green. Scott Wiseman and Anthony Carlyle scored for the hosts with Raymond Woods 3, Daven Riley and Richard Allen sealing the points for Chelmer Reserves. A Peter Rowland penalty gave Leigh Ramblers Reserves a half time lead against Ford Basildon Reserves but they had to settle for a point as the hosts equalised in the second half. In the other game Runwell Hospital beat Forest Glade 2-1.

Division Four West

Home is where the heart in this Division with every home team winning. Last week Fulbrook Royals opened their season last week with a four nil victory. They repeated the feat with this time Sanders being their victims. This week’s scorers were Dave Newbery 2, Ian Aldridge and Stephen Gee. Old Barkabbeyans did all the damage in the first half with Paul Phipps 2, Ricky Riches and David Harvey scoring against West Essex A from whom Thomas Mockler scored once in each half. Hornchurch are the other side to have won both their opening games. Cy Taylor scored in the second minute with the rest of the goals coming in the second half against Old Parmiterians A. Lee Nightingill, Samuel Knowles and David Smith scored for the hosts in the second half with Old Parmiterians A replying twice. Daniel Wright and a Stacy Phillips penalty gave Spartan Athletic their first victory in the League as they met White Roding Reserves.

Over 45 Division

Last weeks high scorers clashed at The Pavilion where Pavilion United came out on top by four goals to one against Old Parmiterians. Pavilion United’s goals came from braces by Martin West and Lee Savage. This weeks high scorers were Peverel who beat Bealonains 8-3. The visitors’ goals came from Alan Marks, John McSweeney and their new signing. In the other game Herongate Athletic beat Doddinghurst Olympic by three goals to nil
