REFEREE FEES REMINDER

A reminder please that the Referee fees for this season are as follows:

Essex Veterans League competition games £45
Essex FA Veterans County Cup/Trophy competitions (up to and including the Quarter Final) £50

The League have picked up that for some League games the Referee may have been paid £50. Now whether this is the Club showing appreciation to the Referee or the Referee asking for a higher match fee, both cases can get the Club and/or the Referee into trouble with the Essex FA. This could lead to an FA Charge and fine.

The reason for this is the Essex FA set the maximum fee payable to prevent a bidding war between Clubs/Leagues for Referees.

We would hate for anyone to be fined for paying too high a match fee.
