May 15, 2022 — Secretary Annual Report 2021/22


After the last two years of curtailed seasons, it has been excellent to complete this season and to have League Champions in each Division. This will also help us in trying to balance the Divisions for next season. Our aim as always is to provide competitive football whatever the standard. What we do need is Clubs to try to get players to commit to playing on a regular basis. We have tried to ensure as many games as possible are played by allowing re-arrangements at short notice, sadly this appears to have led to a few teams taking advantage of this which has led to opponents going weeks without football which isn’t right. The Committee will be reviewing our policy for next season on postponements to try to get the correct balance.

Aug 5, 2021 — Constitution 2020/21


Following some late withdrawals from the League there have been some minor alterations to the Constitution. All Clubs have finally completed their affiliation so the request to FA to set up Full Time for the new season has now been made. The Constitution for the 2020/21 season is as follows:

Aug 5, 2021 — Secretary Annual Report 2020/21


Despite everything that has gone on this year with COVID19 there is only one place to start this year’s Annual Report and that is to place on record thanks to Andy Piercy for all his hard work and efforts in contributing to making the League what it is today. Andy was a Management Committee member in the first season of the League in 1993. In 1997 he took up the role of Publicity Secretary which prior to Full Time meant receiving phone calls from Clubs reporting the match scores, which included on occasion a phone call from a Night Club at 1.30am Sunday morning.

Apr 13, 2021 — HRH Prince Philip Remembrance


The Committee have met to discuss how our respects are paid following the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip and his funeral on Saturday 17th April 2021. The Committee feel it is right to join in the National minutes silence at 3pm on Saturday but also acknowledge the difficulty Clubs will have at re-arranged fixtures at short notice and the fact they cannot be postponed to another date.

Mar 14, 2021 — Essex Veterans League Restart


Clubs have voting overwhelmingly to declare the current League Season null and void. Clubs also voted to extend the League Season until 12th June 2021 and play a League format based on the current Divisions. Teams will play each other once between 10th April 2021 and 12th June 2021.

Feb 14, 2021 — League Update


The Government are indicating they will be making an announcement on 22nd February 2021 with a plan for coming out of Lockdown. Hopefully this will give an indication of when park football may be able to re-commence.
