Premier Division League leaders Little Thurrock Dynamos lost their 100% record as they went down 3-1 to Met Police Chigwell whose goals came from Gabby Williams 2 and Stuart Jones. Springfield moved back up to second place after the completed the double over Hutton Old Boys thanks to first half goals by Neil Fergus, Gary Gosling and Rod McGurk. Essex Saturday Veterans Cup First Round Joint highest scorers in the County Cup were Manford Way and Sungate who each scored twelve times without reply against North Weald and Academy Soccer respectively. Premier Division The top two meet on Saturday with the game being switched to Moulsham School due to Chelmsford Council calling all their pitches off. Little Thurrock Dynamos found the Astroturf to their liking as they ran out 5-1 winners over Springfield. Another team to win 5-1 away were Hutton Old Boys at Chipping Ongar. Springfield are their nearest challengers following their 3-1 win over Shenfield. May 20, 2013 — Wales Over 50’s v England Over 50’s at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff


On 13th May 2013 England Over 50’s travelled to Cardiff to take on their Welsh counterparts. What made this fixture extra special was it was played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The England side had a strong representation from the Greene King Essex Veterans League with John Day, Paul Mitchell, John Cowan and Ian Greenwood from Old Parmiterians and Steve Edkins and Peter Coffill from Herongate Athletic taking part.
