Feb 18, 2016 — Cricketers Horndon Saxons Resign from the League
This week Cricketers Horndon Saxons have apologised to the League for their actions and resigned from the League. This came about as a result of registering and playing players who were underage in previous seasons, playing an underage player in an Over 45 game who was a registered player for the Over 35 team, being unable to provide proof of dates of birth for nearly half their squad when requested and knowingly playing an ineligible player on a registration check.
Jan 16, 2016 — League Funds
At the recent meeting the League Management Committee are concerned about the high level of money the League currently have. We are looking to re-distribute some of this to Clubs.
Jan 16, 2016 — Proposed Rule Changes
If Clubs have any have any rule changes they would like to propose these need to be submitted to the League Secretary by 1st February 2016 at the latest. The League Management Committee will be proposing a rule change that means Clubs must hold a copy of every player’s proof of date of birth. The Registration Secretaries will then at random during the season ask Clubs to supply the copies within three days. Failure to supply the requested information will led to fixtures being suspended.
Jan 12, 2016 — Life Savers
People sometimes talk about football being a case of life or death, on Saturday for Chris Ball of BSC (Bishops Stortford) Over 45’s it was. Just before half time in the match against Dunmow Rhodes Chris fell to the ground with a heart attack. Lucky for Chris, Mick Margaritis of BSC and Tony Brown of Dunmow Rhodes put their first aid training to use and commenced CPR
Dec 24, 2015 — Multiple Cases of West Essex and Players Breaching Rules Proven
The Essex FA have contacted us about our reporting of West Essex repeatedly breaking the FA Standard Code of Rules. We have been asked to only report the facts of the case and not to provide any inference as to how the decisions were made even if West Essex used the same words in mitigation of the offences.
Dec 11, 2015 — League Management Trophy
Twenty one Over 45 teams to be split into four groups (One groups of six and two groups of five). Maidonians have requested not to enter the Competition. Teams will play each other once in the Group stage. There will be a designated “Home” team, however if their pitch is unplayable then the game is played on opponents ground if fit.
